Holy Clutches
Holy Clutches
Oh! How you unravel the great mysteries of the universe,
Feeding hungry souls the answers they most desperately desire.
Coaxing magnificent tales into the gaping mouths of the masses
Promising paradise for the lost,
Love for the lonely,
Miracles for the unfortunate,
So long as they follow you faithfully.
The damned instinctively reach out to your extended hand,
Spreading their fingers over your inviting palms.
Yet, your once promised tender grasp begins to seize,
Like the jaws of a bloodhound clamping down on its prey,
Never to let go.
You preach words of truth and peace,
Yet war and crimson follow in your wake.
